Het hele jaar feest!

Concept
The museum invited me to design a garland that allows you to highlight your own special day, for example your birthday or International Cat Day. Each month is represented by a unique laser-cut shape, adorned with small figures inspired by local festivals typical of the (former) Zuiderzee area. The garland comes with a booklet that delves into these festive occasions. I named the project ‘Het hele jaar feest’ (translated: Party All Year Round), celebrating the rich tapestry of festivities throughout the year in the former Zuiderzee region. And that idea tied in nicely with the celebration of the museum’s 75th anniversary.

What we made
Next to the garlands, we crafted a charming campaign image in collaboration with Medea Huisman. For the set, we used lovely tableware from a thrift store that has an orange gradient. It perfectly complements the color palette of the garland. The shiny lilac tablecloth from the market adds a vibrant touch to the presentation.

Sparkles
In this project, I embraced various roles: researcher, illustrator, designer, production manager, set designer, and stylist. The diversity of tasks keeps my days fresh – like a sweet lemon pie! 🍋

The final steps of the project became a festive occasion. Together with the team and family members we carefully packed the garlands in beautiful packages and prepared them for the museum shop. Their support made the final steps of this project not only possible but incredibly enjoyable!
